Embryologically
displaced spinal neuroglial tissue
36-y-o female with
median lumbar nodule present since birth.
This tissue most likely represents embryologically displaced spinal neuroglial tissue as
evidenced by the presence of large gemistocytic astrocytes and the small oligodendrocytes.
The pseudorosette pattern is quite intriguing - however it does not represent a ganglionic
tumor or a neuroblastic differentiation.
